Course Details

Sustained professional performance depends on the ability to direct attention when competing demands, interruptions and pressure are present. This course examines how attention works in demanding professional environments and why concentration can deteriorate as cognitive demands increase. Participants learn practical strategies for protecting focus and recovering effectively after interruption.

The course explores attention management, distraction, task switching, prioritisation and the relationship between pressure and cognitive performance. Participants apply practical methods to realistic working situations rather than relying on generic productivity advice. The aim is to develop more deliberate control over attention when workload and complexity increase.

Outcomes

• Identify common factors that reduce focus and attentional control at work.
• Apply practical strategies for reducing unnecessary cognitive interruption.
• Structure demanding work to support deeper and more sustained attention.
• Recover focus more effectively following interruption or periods of pressure.
