Cyber Governance & AI Risk – Mitigation of shadow AI, deepfakes, and data leakage
Cyber Resilience, Risk & Business Protection Faculty
Course reference: EAC-CR-S4-CGD

Course Details
Rapid adoption of generative AI is creating new cyber and information risks beyond those addressed by conventional awareness training. This course examines shadow AI, synthetic content, deepfakes and accidental data leakage from a practical organisational risk perspective. It is designed for managers and professionals who need to recognise and control these risks without becoming technical cybersecurity specialists.
Participants examine how employees may introduce confidential or sensitive information into unapproved services, how manipulated content can affect trust and decision-making, and how governance can reduce exposure. The course combines awareness, organisational controls, escalation and proportionate response. Participants develop practical measures that can be incorporated into existing policies, management processes and cyber-risk arrangements.
Outcomes
• Identify workplace behaviours and processes that increase exposure to AI-related cyber risk.
• Apply proportionate governance and escalation controls to higher-risk AI use.
• Recommend practical measures for strengthening organisational resilience against emerging AI-related threats.
