Manager Wellbeing, Stress Risk and Early Intervention
Leadership, Governance & Management Faculty
Course reference: EAC-LM-S4-MWS

Course Details
Managers have an important role in recognising when workplace pressures may be affecting employees, while also remaining within appropriate managerial boundaries. This course examines workload, stress risk, behaviour change and early conversations from a management rather than clinical perspective. It helps managers respond constructively without attempting to diagnose individual health conditions.
Participants explore practical indicators that may justify a management conversation, the importance of workload and role clarity, and approaches to discussing concerns respectfully. The course considers escalation routes, organisational support and the distinction between supportive management and professional health intervention. Managers develop a more confident framework for early and proportionate action.
Outcomes
• Conduct supportive conversations while maintaining appropriate managerial boundaries.
• Identify organisational factors that may contribute to avoidable workplace pressure.
• Select appropriate follow-up, support or escalation routes within organisational processes.
